Casting Workshop - Terms and Conditions

Terms & conditions.

By making a booking with Searigs UK, it is on the understanding that you agree to our terms and conditions.

Bookings:

When a booking is made it is on the understanding that you have fully read and accepted our terms and conditions of business. All bookings will be confirmed via email. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult/guardian. It is a clear booking condition that you fully accept the hazards involved in the fishing/Casting environment and your engagement with potentially dangerous activities.

Cancellations:

We offer tuition through a third party in many weather conditions except torrential rain and or thunder and lightning.  The third party or Searigs UK may decide to cancel/postpone a coaching session due to extreme weather conditions beyond their/Searigs UK control.  For example, very high winds making casting dangerous, or water conditions/levels on rivers, fields, or for any other reason where we deem it impossible to hold the course on that day, then (1). a refund minus costings will be given  Or (2). an alternative date(s) may be offered,  whichever is acceptable to the customer.

All our fishing guides are self-employed and rely on this as their main source of income.  Upon booking your day the guide cannot accept any further work opportunities on that day, therefore cancelling your date seriously limits their chance of earning money on that day.

Cancellations must be given in writing i.e. email or from the Contact Us page.  Rules for cancellations:

  1.  The customer must provide Searigs UK a minimum of 28 days’ notice; or
  2. If less than 28 days’ notice is given then only an alternate date or partial refund will be offered; or
  3. If less than 7 days notice no alternative will be offered and we will not be able to offer any refund, and
  4. Any rearranged bookings after a cancellation must take place within twelve months; and
  5. A 12-month extension voucher or cancellation may be repurchased for 50% of the face value.

If fishing permits, catering, or any other arrangements have been made for a client’s booking, which has resulted in costs to Searigs UK which are unrecoverable by Searigs UK those costs will still be chargeable and will be recovered from the customer. If conditions are unsuitable we will do our best to reschedule alternative fishing/tuition on the day. This may incur extra permit costs. Credit vouchers may be given rather than monetary refunds.

Searigs cannot be held liable for weather conditions and cancellations out of our reasonable control.

When a refund is given due to cancellation by Searigs UK, the liability will only extend to the value of the workshop that has been cancelled. The information on this website is reviewed and kept up to date regularly, however, some changes may occur. No liability can be accepted for any errors, omissions or deletions. Searigs staff or any contractor working in conjunction with us shall not be liable for any illness, personal injury or death caused out of our control or by not adhering or listening to clear safety briefings and procedures. However, this does not apply to any negligence on behalf of Searigs.

Health & Safety:

Your safety and that of all other members of the party is always our primary concern. If a client does not adhere to the safety instructions given or fails to wear the safety equipment provided and puts themselves or others at risk they will be asked to leave the session. The contract will be terminated and no refund will be applicable in these circumstances.

Duty of Care and Safety:

All customers will be given a full health and safety briefing at the start of each session as part of our duty of care, if you do not understand any aspect then please, you must, ask us to repeat it. Customers MUST highlight any pre-existing medical condition and if need be discuss any medication that may be required in case of an emergency.  Customers may be asked to complete a liability release form if a condition is present. Failure to not declare a pre-existing medical condition will be considered negligent and we will not take responsibility should an incident arise.

Insurance:

Searigs recommends that all guests have travel insurance including baggage loss, damage, personal possession loss, and damage. All clients must ensure appropriate insurances cover them for the duration of their stay and the activities undertaken. Insurances must cover cancellations and curtailments, medical & emergency expenses (including repatriation), flight cancellations, personal accidents, injuries, and death.

Contests:

Searigs has the right to cancel the contest or disqualify individuals from the draw should such conditions apply:

  1. The course is undercooked and attended by less than 8 registered attendees
  2. Individuals do not participate; or
  3. attend the course for the full three days without a valid reason

Disrespectful Behaviour:

Searigs UK will not tolerate disrespectful behaviour and Searigs UK has the right to terminate an individual’s right to attend the course.  Drugs and Alcohol are strictly prohibited during the course hours.  Any individual caught taking illegal substances or drinking alcohol will face an instant dismissal from the course.
